Fifield Glyn appoints New Director

Edward G. Fifield, BSc, MRICS has become a Director at Fifield Glyn (01606 351351) where he will continue to be responsible for Property Managment matters.




Edward was born in 1972 and commenced practice in 1995 with King Sturge & Co. after graduating from the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1997.



In 1997 he joined Fifield Glyn Ltd where he is responsible for Property Management throughout England and Wales.

Retail Warehouse Letting: Carlisle

The Textile Mill Warehouse has taken a 15 year FRI Lease from 29 September 2001 on this 15,000 sq.ft. (1,393.5m2) Unit adjacent to AMF Bowling at a commencing rental of £85,000 pa rising to £120,000 pa.

Pioneering One-Stop Shop Letting: Liverpool

Private Investment Clients of Fifield Glyn have purchased a Long Leasehold Office Investment, Units A, B & C, Westmere Court, Crewe Business Park, from Gladman Developments Ltd.

The property comprises 3 detached modern office buildings with a total floor area of 18,665 sq ft with 108 on site car parking spaces.

Two of the buildings are let to Leading Technology Ltd. until September 2024, whilst a third is let to Scott Wilson Railways Ltd. until October 2014.

The combined rent is £232,308 per annum.

Acquisition of Freehold Retail Investment: Barrow-in-Furness

Private Investment Clients of Fifield Glyn have purchased a Freehold Retail Investment, 103/105 Dalton Road, Barrow-In-Furness from Altrincham based Mutley Properties (Holdings) Ltd.

The property is let to Poundstretcher Properties Ltd. on a 25 year FRI Lease from 29 September 1989 at a rent of £69,000 pa, subject to upward only rent reviews every 5 years.

The purchase price of £745,000 represents a net initial yield of 8.76%.

Office Letting: Sheffield

The Actuaries, Kerr & Co. have expanded their Sheffield office at No. 6, 12 O’ Clock Court, Attercliffe Road by acquiring the remaining 1st and 2nd floors.

They now have a Lease of the entire building, which comprises 3,819 sq.ft. (335m2), together with 12 car spaces, which they hold on a new 15 year Full Repairing and Insuring Lease subject to 5 yearly upward only rent reviews at a rental of £50,600 pa equating to £13.25 psf (£142.62m2).

Fifield Glyn Win Management Contract from Western Power Distribution

11 July 2001

Fifield Glyn have been awarded two Management Contracts at Runcorn in Cheshire and Rhuddlan in North Wales from Western Power Distribution the South West England and South West Wales Energy and Utilities Company.

The first, a modern Office Development at Howard Court, Manor Park in Runcorn, Cheshire, comprises 3 self-contained buildings in a landscaped setting off the A553 Runcorn Expressway totalling 2,400m2 (25,000 sq.ft.), with a current rent role of £232,500 pa and is let to Hyder Industrial, Severn Trent Laboratories and Manor Park Systems. Fifield Glyn also manage the adjoining Hampton Court Office Development.

Acquisition of Prime Leisure Investment: Liverpool

Private Investment Clients of Fifield Glyn have acquired a new leisure investment in Liverpool from booksellers, Waterstones.

A former Waterstones bookshop, the property occupies a prime position at the junction of Bold Street and Concert Street. It has been let to Bass Taverns Ltd. for 30 years from 17 May 2000, subject to break clauses at the end of the 15th and 25th years. The building has been extensively refurbished by the occupier, who trades as Edwards.
