Gadbrook Park Bike to Work Day Tuesday 17th June 2014

19 June 2014

The weather was kind allowing a great turn out for the annual Gadbrook Park” Bike to Work Day” supported and sponsored by the BID. In total there were 91 participants an increase of 20 over last year.
The main organiser of the event who cycled in on a tandem from Appleton with his wife Angela was Stephen Hall the MD of HMD.
Stephen arranged for Richard from “WILD BIKES” based in Stockton Heath to display a range of magnificent bikes beneath a gazebo at Arabica.

At the park entrance every cyclist and one or two peckish pedestrians supplied with packs of biscuits and cakes by Mike Roberts of Roberts Bakery. The surplus packs went onto be donated to the Red Cross in Winsford.

All cyclists also had a voucher for a breakfast and free entry into a prize draw.

Special Thanks to the following…….

  •     Stephen Hall, from HMD for organising the day with such enthusiasm.

  •     Arabica staff for the usual good humour and excellent service.

  •     Richard from Wild Bikes for giving up his day to help us and provide free advice.

  •     Mike Roberts from Roberts Bakery for the gifts.

  •     Alpha Omega guards for stewarding.

  •     Fifield Glyn for allowing the gazebo to be erected on the forecourt of Arabica.

SPECIAL THANKS to all who participated, we are considering including pedestrians next year many of whom come smiling through the underpass.

The draw for the prizes was undertaken at Arabica and Jo drew the following winners.

  •     First prize a bike valued at £500 plus, Mr DAN BOWEN of Barclays  (see picture attachment)

  •     Second prize, a riding helmet, Mr FERNANDO DURAN of ICHRON

  •     Third prize, set of lights., Mrs ANGELA HALL of HMD.

Vote yes for BID2 on Gadbrook Park!

19 June 2014

In July 2014, every
business on Gadbrook Park will have a choice to make, that choice is to vote
YES or No to the Gadbrook Park Business Improvement District (BID2).
  Nearly five years ago, the
business community on Gadbrook Park voted YES to the 2009 – 2014 Business
Improvement District. This decision has delivered a strong programme of
sustained investment that has realised long term improvements across Gadbrook
Park and the Business Centre. During the last 12 months, the Gadbrook Park
Executive Board have led the development of a business plan for a successor
BID. Feedback from all companies has shown clear demand for building on the
successes of the 2009-14 BID, with a clear, maintained focus on further
improving crime prevention and security measures.

The proposal for BID2 maintains
the existing security services
, and will deliver a Business Park wide CCTV
system
to further enhance the level of security for your company.
BID2 will also maintain
services that resident businesses have stated are important to sustain
,
including the Business Park Manager function, free key holding services, free
to attend training and events, rapid text service, landscape maintenance and
image enhancements, business networking and more.

Under the existing BID, the level of investment made by all companies has
remained static since 2009. Under BID2, a small additional investment will be
required in years 2-5, to ensure that the BID remains financially viable
through to 2019. Some of the unavoidable price increases that will impact the
costs associated with delivering BID2 include increases in National Minimum
Wage and Pension Auto-Enrolment costs. The Executive Board have reviewed options
to avoid this additional investment, however, all alternatives would compromise the BIDs ability to
maintain service delivery and introduce wider risks to your business on
Gadbrook Park
.

Over the next few weeks, Mike
Kelly, Business Park Manager,
will be visiting individual
companies on the Gadbrook Park and the Business Centre to review the proposal
for BID2 and answer any outstanding questions. Voting papers will be released in the next 7-10 days,
and your business will need to return your vote by post to Electoral Reform
Services in London.

To ensure your vote is
counted, your voting paper will need to be posted 1st class by the 21st July
at the latest. So make your vote count and vote yes!
