1946 – 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our founder, John Fifield FRICS who sadly passed away on 21 January 2025 following a short stay in hospital.

John Fifield established Fifield Glyn Chartered Surveyors in 1975 in Manchester with his late wife, Ros.  He was a very well respected Chartered Surveyor who had practised for almost 60 years, specialising in commercial property, expert witness and third party disputes.

In addition to his work at Fifield Glyn he was the joint founder of the Osborne House Group, which established the very successful Gadbrook Park in Cheshire in 1984 together with other property projects across England and Wales.

He was Chairman of the Greater Manchester Branch of RICS in 1990 and President of the Manchester Society of Land Agents & Surveyors in 2001.  He was also a strong supporter and mentor for the Prince’s Trust for many years.

John’s legacy will continue at both Fifield Glyn and Osborne House Group.  He will be greatly missed, especially by his 3 children; Edward Fifield who is Managing Director of both Fifield Glyn and Osborne House Group, Charles Fifield who is their Company Secretary and Victoria Mead who works closely with both companies.

Fifield Glyn enjoyed a great days golf at the 10th ALEP and Kerry London annual golf tournament at The Hertsmere, Borehamwood on Thursday 16th May 2024. The day brought together Chartered Surveyors, Lawyers and Valuers. John Fifield FRICS and Andrew Carrick MRICS represented Fifield Glyn.

Congratulations to Fifield Glyn for winning at the annual Fixflo awards ceremony last night in London “Best use of automation in enterprise block management”.

A huge well done to the property team in Cheshire, especially Olivia Henderson who has driven this initiative forward.

Edward Fifield BSc. FRICS and Rod Welfare are delighted to be at Jtrade this year with our partners My Property Survey talking all things property!

Launched in 2018, JTrade is Britain’s only Jewish trade expo; it connects people in the construction/property market with potential employees, customers and investors. JTrade’s debut took place in May 2018; with 1000s of visitors and over 180 exhibitor stands. JTrade highlights local talent and enables entrepreneurs from a vast range of backgrounds to display their products and services to a large pool of potential clients.

Fifield Glyn Chartered Surveyors held its 5th annual team building day in Birmingham on Friday 14th October 2022. 

22 staff members came along for a day of ten pin bowling, followed by a quiz and delicious Italian meal at Cucina Rustica.

The results were as follows:

1.            1st place with 92 points was Team A comprising of John Fifield, Gerald Chong, Karen Ferguson, and Sue Tutt.

2.            2nd place with 84 points was Team E comprising of Sharon Scanlon, Terry Navin, Carol Howcroft, and Stuart Smith.

3.            3rd place with 81 points was Team D comprising of Edward Fifield, Barrie Martin, Lucy Warriner, Joanne Boughey and Emma Fergusson.

On the spot prize: Victoria Mead and Stuart Smith.

“Our staff are placed in three offices geographically across the UK, so the Directors and I feel it’s so important to nurture relationships. Once a year we meet for a day’s fun; grouping teams of people to work together in an activity, followed by a quiz and then have a meal. A warm welcome to our six new starters who have joined our Cheshire office in the last few months.

A steady rise in business from both new and existing clients has prompted the decision to recruit further to continue to offer our seven core services: agency, asset management, building services, dispute resolution, leasehold enfranchisement, property management and valuations.

Fifield Glyn are delighted to announce the appointment of Sharon Scanlon as their new Operations Manager with effect from Monday 6th June 2022.  

Sharon has an accountancy background and extensive experience in operations management having worked in Industry performing this role for several years.
